The Le Sueur County Fair was established in 1857 in Cleveland as a way to promote local farmers and the community. Around 1875-76 it was fully organized as a county fair and moved to Le Sueur, the county seat at the time. The fair was moved to its current location in the mid-1920s. A tornado in 1998 damaged or destroyed many of our buildings, which have since been rebuilt.

Our county fair celebration has become a valuable part of our community that allows people to showcase projects ranging from livestock to home and garden items. The success of the fair is in part due to the community support that we have received over the years.

 Although our fair has many areas of focus, one of the largest is an abundance of livestock. In 2017 we had 497 4-H animal projects exhibited at the fair, with almost 40 going on to be showcased at the Minnesota State Fair. This is in addition to open class animals that are exhibited in almost every large animaI species at the fair. For this reason, the Fair Board has approved the construction of a 60' x 112' building that will include a show arena near the beef and goat/sheep barn on the fairgrounds. This building will be used for the 4-H and Open Class shows of the beef, dairy, goat:, and sheep species, and will also be home to one of our largest 4-H fundraisers —The 4-H Ribbon Auction.

Construction is already underway! Your sponsorship support may be a tax deductible advertising expense for your business and is greatly appreciated as we continue to improve our fairgrounds. It is a great way to get your business name advertised and show your county fair pride!
